Sacraments & funerals

As a sacramental community, St Thomas More’s makes visible Christ’s presence in our world. We reach out to and welcome those who seek to become nembers of the Church.
The community welcomes and helps prepare those who want to be included in the faith community.

Eucharist

The focal point of gathering for the community of faith is the weekly celebration of the Eucharist. Described as ‘the source and summit’ of our faith, the Eucharistic celebration gives expression to our encounter with God in and through Christ.  This life in Christ is incarnated in the bread of our daily living which we gather together in the prayer of the liturgy.

In the Eucharist we are led to break open our lives, to be vulnerable before each other, to forgive and embrace each other, to break down any barriers which may separate us and humanity.

To this end, preparation is carefully done so that the community may gather in prayerful worship.  Full and active participation is encouraged.

Eucharist is celebrated each weekend with a 6.00pm Vigil on Saturday and 8.30am Mass on Sunday. Week day times are 9.00am on Monday and Friday and 5.30pm on Tuesday with Liturgy of the Word with Communion at 9.00am on Wednesday.
